Simply, what is one core, guiding, question that we have continually asked during our reading of "Notes" and has been answered through our conversations, assignments, and study of the text.
Let me know if you have any questions.

What is the Underground Man searching for?
What is the Underground Man's disease?
What is the Underground?
Who is the Underground Man in the context of our lives?
What is a man of action versus a man of thought? Or is there no difference?
For those looking for a bit of challenge--think a little bit more broadly and try to pull in a bit of Camus too.
These are very good thus far, but I wider spectrum of questions would be thought provoking but not required.
Keep up the good work.
(I don't really know a good place to ask this)
Where is that picture in the upper right corner from? Is it a single piece, part of a series of photographs? Who is it by?
For anyone else who wants to look at it more closely, right-click and click view image
Is the underground man blind?
Mr. Davis--
That is a great question--it is just one photograph, and it is entitled "The Invisible Man."
It is no doubt one of my favorite pieces of art--one of my favorites because it makes me ask so many questions and it makes me realize so many universal truths...but I wonder what you think.
For a while, this photo, was the bookmark I used whenever I was reading something that really provoked me and probed my soul (or is it my liver) but perhaps, we can spare a few minutes tomorrow in order to discuss it further.
Keep the great thoughts coming....

What is the difference between physical courage and moral courage.
What is the Underground Man's rock? And what is that rock in relation to his walls?
Can the darkness be overcome? If impossible, how does one survive it?
Are we underground as well?
And I would like to say that I am SO HAPPY you put that picture on this blog. I was just looking at it today while I was reading the Invisible Man.
1,369 lights underground.
what is the underground man's sickness?
What keeps the Underground Man underground?
Molly--
That is a great question--but like the blue whale told me, 'I am not going to answer it.'
But I will quote another sage, Morpheus, "...s(he) is starting to believe."
So I will ask another question instead: why are the lights always off in our class?
Best,

Are our walls placed in front of us by some higher power/fate or do we construct thm ourelves? Is every brick just another choice that led us to that wall?
are we all the underground man or do we have to be conscious of where we are and what we are doing for this to be true?
and what does he smell like.?
Does the underground man want to get out, or is he happy where he is? I like what Jo said about what is the UM's rock. Does he really have one or does he create it for himself?
Is the underground man a prisoner of his actions? Do his actions dictate how he functions and how he exists?
